What You Can Expect to Feel During a C-Section

I am planning on having a C-Section when it is time to deliver my baby. What can I expect to feel during a c-section, after receiving my spinal or epidural?

There are certain feelings you can expect to feel during a c-section after a spinal or epidural is given. One feeling you can expect is a rapid onset of numbness up to your chest, usually occurring within three to five minutes for a spinal or about five to ten minutes if you receive and epidural instead. This causes many women to feel weird as their bodies are undergoing and compensating for rapid changes resulting from the anesthesia. Watch this video and learn what to expect during your c-section from the anesthesia, how the hospital staff monitors you during this time, and the best way to know that you are breathing even though you cannot feel your chest moving.
